We are well into the first month of 2021 and Covid hasn't taken a hike yet like so many of us wished it would. Lucky for us, Covid will not stop our learning this year; at least not at Dragons Heart Quilt Shop anyway.
It turns out you can teach an old dog new tricks, because I am here for the Zoom classes, the Facebook Lives, and Facetime sessions. We are starting our year off strong with bringing MJ KINMAN, a textile artist live through zoom. She will be teaching us all about creating our own fabric gemstones. After her, we are starting a Block of the Month featuring Susan Madu with Modern Blended Quilts in February. She will be teaching us new techniques to add to our tool kit of skills with the use of the Studio 180 Rulers. Don't worry, we haven't stopped there. Keep checking our events page for Free Zoom Sit N' Sews, T-Shirt/Memory Quilt Class, and many, many more...remember its only January and we are only getting started in our year of learning.
I always look forward to learning new skills. Its amazing how often you can go back in your tool kit and pull out a skill you learned 20 years ago. The benefits of on-going learning not only helps you to create more precise, beautiful works of art; but also allows you to encourage and help those around you. I can't wait to learn side by side with so many of you this year, even if it is over a computer screen. At least we can get some sort of comradery this way and I can get to know so many of you who join me weekly on my Facebook lives. I hope 2021 brings you all the fun, fabric, friendship, and learning that you are hoping for this year.
