Wall Hanging | Block of the Month with Susan Madu

The wall hanging is a monthly sampler of 7 months with alternate grid layout. Each class will take place on the first Saturday of the Month beginning in February 2023 with the final month in August 2023. Classes are on Zoom, from 09:00am - 11 am MST and are recorded for future viewing for a limited time.

Cost: $84 plus a kit sold seperately. (Purple/Neutral Colorway Kit  - $65.75 - Other colorways will be available.)

 Each block demonstrates a different quilting technique. We will be working to build your skills progressively, including :

• Two different techniques for machine sewn circles with no raw edges
• The choice of circle technique should "match" the size and application in your project
• Precise small flying geese blocks that finish at 1" x 2"
• Minimal waste gentle curves technique that is more than fun
• Understanding the impact of relative colours in three different colour blocks
• Piecing and pressing techniques to increase the overall accuracy of your project
• Faced finishing and hanging sleeves techniques

Required Supplies:

• Circle Sampler pattern, delivered to you via PDF each month and included in your registration fee
• Fabric to complete the blocks. A fabric kit is available for the neutrals & purple version in the photo. Ask us to kit you up with different colours if you like.
• Studio 180 tools - Magic Wand and Wing Clipper 1
• Compass
• Freezer Paper - 6 sheets 8.5'' x 11"
• Fabric glue stick such as Bohin Glue Pen
• Acorn Easy Press Pen & Fabric Treatment and Seam Align Glue (Available in a Starter Kit)
• Sewing machine (in working order and manual) sewing kit, cutting mat, rotary cutter and rulers (6.5" square, 6" x 24" or 8.5" x 24" and a 3.5" square is helpful)
• Access to an electronic device with microphone, video, wifi and current version of Zoom
